Itinerary
Moshi
Touch down in the scenic city of Moshi. You’ve made it to Tanzania, a country of Maasai warriors, the Serengeti and Africa’s highest peak. Make sure you get some rest after your flight. You’re about to take the road less travelled and experience the places you’ve been dreaming about. Wild mountains, tribal villages and exotic spice islands, they’re all here waiting to be explored.

Moshi
Unzip your tent in Moshi, this welcoming city sits at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak (5,895m). Dive into expedition life, allocate some group roles and contact the ground team to discuss your plans. You’ll need to buy some food supplies and a SIM card for the team phone, hit the markets and get to grips with the currency, the Tanzanian Shilling. Jobs done, it’s time to explore. Take a stroll around Moshi and visit the street stalls for your first taste of masala chai or Tanzanian stew. You’ve also got the option of visiting a coffee plantation or tea estate in the Arusha region, a land of extinct volcanoes, vast craters and the legendary Great Rift Valley.

Monduli
Trekking through Tanzania with the legendary Maasai tribe is a one-off experience that you’ll never forget. Spend the next three days exploring the Monduli district, a cluster of Maasai villages beneath the Monduli Mountains and the mighty volcanic peak of Ol Doinyo Lengai (‘Mountain of God’). Take on the role of team leader and get to know your Maasai guides. Set off from the village of Emairete, which lies in a sacred volcanic crater. Steer your group through Maasai farmland and rainforest to the village of Enguiki, and as you trek, you’ll see rare glimpses of Maasai life. Your guides have grown up here, so grab this opportunity to ask them all about it.

Kilimanjaro
Get hands-on with a reforestation project at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Throughout Tanzania, trees are cut down for timber, charcoal and agriculture, and this deforestation leads to habitat loss, soil erosion and drought, which is bad news for everything from food supply to long-term sustainability, but there’s hope...Local environmental teams are working hard to reverse the damage by planting native trees. Travel to a planting site near Moshi and help locals to support this initiative. Learn about tree cultivation and get stuck in with planting some saplings. When evening falls, gaze across the plains and soak up another stunning Tanzanian sunset.

Siman Jiro
Spend the next few days living near Maasai villages, surrounded by the beauty of the rugged African savannah, rolling hills, and clusters of traditional, dome-shaped Maasai homes made from natural materials like mud, wood, and grass. During this time, you’ll work alongside the community to make a meaningful impact in this rural setting. Join efforts to transform lives by supporting local women who have been trained to install efficient stoves and solarpowered electricity in their own communities. These installations help ease daily tasks and contribute to a more sustainable future. Embrace your experience living alongside the Maasai, enjoying traditional foods and learning about their unique culture and customs.

Karatu
Safari time! Thought this trip couldn’t get any better? It just did. You’re about to experience the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s top safari destinations. A massive volcanic basin, spanning a hundred square miles, Ngorongoro teems with animals, from zebras and wildebeest to hippos and gazelles. This wildlife mecca has the highest density of lions in Africa. In fact, it’s home to all of the Big Five: lions, leopards, rhino, buffalo and elephants. First up, you’ll travel to a camp near the reserve and take a day to chill out before it’s time for the action. The magic happens when you set out on game drives across the savannah. The cool early mornings and evenings are the best time to spot wildlife, so bring some binoculars for a closer look. After an epic safari, it’s back to Moshi for a final meal to celebrate everything you’ve achieved on this trip.
